Hello, my name is Kyle Hayward. I’m the creator of the Spirits & Spellcraft system which I’ve published under Redfork Productions LLC, my sole proprietor business. As a teenager and an aspiring writer I discovered Dungeons and Dragons, starting with 3.5e and fell in love with the hobby. My friends and I played all manner of table top games, both popular and niche. These games captured all of the influences that inspired me to write, stories like Lord of the Rings and The Odyssey, epic tales of heroes that translate well to the collaborative stories of tabletop gaming.
Spirits & Spellcraft started as a concept years after I had been playing Game Master for about a decade. As a fan of various video game RPGs such as Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, Shin Megami Tensei/Persona, Pokemon, etc. I loved the skills and abilities that made those games like the class systems of TTRPGs , with an intreguing blend of story with tactical combat and calculated risk these all became inspirations when creating Spirits & Spellcraft.
While working on this project my biggest goal has always been to make it as accessible as possible which is why I made the decision to start as a royalty free and open source project. As official and licensed projects will eventually be released for purchase the website will be ever expanded with new rules and content that will be released and added to the royalty free portion of the website.
