Throughout your characters’ adventures they will find many items of intrigue. These things range from equipment they will bear in order to fight and survive to services provided by others.
Starting Gear
Players begin the game with a set of basic clothing and their choice between two weapons or one weapon and one spell implement, a set of light or medium armor, a small tool set that they’re proficient in, and a number of currency according to the GM and their setting’s economy.
Equipment Types
Most equipment can be broken down into four types of categories, though there are nuances for more categories or sub categories.
- Weapons. Equipment for warfare meant to deal damage to opponents.
- Armor. Defensive equipment meant to provide protection from weapons.
- Tools. Tool sets and other equipment used for various tasks.
- Goods/Services. Adventuring gear, Meals, housing, transport and other provisions that may be provided to others.
Pricing
The cost of equipment will often vary within each game run and because of the nature of world-building there is no set price of items within the contents of this site. Prices of goods should vary not only by availability but by the local economy. Some games might have one or several universal currencies such as copper, silver, gold, etc., and some games might have local currencies that mimic more realism.
Often with pricing, mundane or ordinary goods would be cheaper than most magical or rare items. The cost of productions also should reflect the price of any item. For more information on tips for creating a local economy visit the Game Master Toolkit or other sites such as www.youtube.com to help create a price list for your game.
