Basilisk

A legendary serpent king that has a terrible venom and a gaze that can turn creatures into stone. The basilisk is an incredibly deadly threat and the unleashing of one on the surface can be a society collapsing apocalypse.

Darkvision. The creature can see in the darkness up to 120 ft.

Immunities. Poison damage, Drowning, Poisoned

Resistances. Dark damage, Psychic damage, Radiant damage

Amphibious. The creature may float, swim, and breathe underwater, or have the ability to hold their breath for extended periods of time.

Actions

Bite (Dex). +7 to hit AC. 3d8+4 Piercing damage and the target is Poisoned for a number of rounds equal to the creature’s Wisdom modifier.

Coil. The creature coils, giving them a +2 to all Defenses while coiled. Their next bite attack has Reach and increases the hit die for damage.

Legendary Actions

Upon being Bloodied, the creature beings using their Legendary Action. These may be used a number of times per long rest equal to the creature’s Wisdom modifier.

Stone Gaze (Wis). Ranged 60 ft, +6 to hit Will, upon a hit the creature becomes Stunned for a number of rounds equal to the creature’s Wisdom modifier. If the Condition is not cured before the end of the creature’s Wisdom modifier rounds, the target becomes permanently Stunned, being turned to stone until turned again.
